Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost

To permanently fix the error, you can go to the settings panel of your computer’s graphics card. There, you will find an option to choose the default graphics card for Unreal Engine. By selecting this option, you make sure that Unreal Engine uses only the dedicated graphics card without any interference from other GPUs. This simple adjustment will solve the problem you’re experiencing.

Here are the steps to set the default graphics card as the dedicated graphics card:
  1. Open the “NVIDIA Control Panel”.
  2. Look for and click on the “Manage 3D Settings” option.
  3. On the right side of the panel, click on the “Program Settings” tab.
  4. Locate the drop-down menu labeled “Select a program to customize” and choose “Unreal Engine” from the list.
  5. In the next drop-down menu named “Select the preferred graphics processor for this program”, select “High-performance NVIDIA Processor”.
  6. Finally, apply the changes by clicking on the “Apply” option.
By following these steps, you will successfully configure the settings for Unreal Engine in the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Then restart Your Pc and Voila 🙂

If this solution did not help you or you are getting a different error, please feel free to share it with us.

Hi @cetin,
I tried your instruction step by step but at least, unreal engine aren't install directly on windows and i didn't have an nvidia graphic cards.
i tried other things like searching pal.exe and Palworld-Win64-Shipping.exe and declare them on graphics card for high performence settings but without succes.
If you can explain your tips, i'll be grateful.
Thanking you in advance
